Where did May go?

So May is basically over and I have one post for the month. Totally unacceptable. So here is how the month has gone since Maggie's birthday.
Scott received a medal for completion of his gymnastics class. He had a great time and has learned how to do many "tricks". Flips, handstands, somersaults, etc. I will have to step in the first time he asks for spandex, but its been pure fun so far.

Scottie and his friend Luke after the big medal ceremonies.
We also went to a thing called 'Touch a Truck'. It was some fundraiser for the Edmond MOMS where they had over 50 trucks (vehicles) parked for the kids to climb all over. It was pretty neat and we touched everything from police cars, hummers, cranes, fire trucks, school buses, etc. Scottie's personal faves were the race car (of course) and the ice cream truck.

Driving the fire truck.

For Memorial Day we went to Grand Lake with the Smiths. Five kids under the age of 5 (3 months, 1, 2, 3, 5) was a little bit much in one house, but we had a great time. Jay and I golfed, the kids explored, the Moms cooked. Scottie said his favorite part was getting to watch movies with Gavin and Mason. Aren't vacations great? I mean, getting to watch movies, now that is what vacation is all about.
The boys acting like monkeys so they can get a cookie.
And it is great to have the weather getting nice so we can have a nice little picnic outside. Minutes after this picture was taken, Ann walked inside to grab the phone only to return to Maggie standing on the middle of the table. Guess the little girl was watching Scottie's gymnastics class a little closer than we thought. That's all for now, so Goodbye May and hello summer.

She's the ONE!!

We had a big weekend. Maggie Moo turned one on Sunday and its pretty amazing to think a year has gone by. She had a great birthday with friends and family coming over. Mom did another amazing job of throwing a great birthday party.
I did become aware of one major issue that I will face over the next 40-50 years. Maggie was born way too close to Mother's Day. Sure it was sweet last year when Maggie was born the day before Mother's Day, but this year I realized I will somehow have to make two very special days in one week. As you can tell from the pictures, I didn't succeed this year. I don't have one good picture from Mother's Day because the entire weekend seemed to be centered around Maggie's bday. We did celebrate Ann with presents and dinner, but it seemed secondary. Sorry hon, I will be better next year.
So I guess this post is dedicated to little girl in my life, and I owe the big girl.
