Back in the Saddle Again

The City of Brotherly Love

Well, after three weeks in Philly, I am home. And if I haven't made it clear enough before, I hate cold weather. If you think hate is a strong word, I apologize, but I hate it. Here is what I did while I was there: sat through meetings, ate, and laid in a hotel bedroom. It was too freaking cold to do anything. Wait, check that, one night I just had to get out and do something, so I made my way down to the Philadelphia Museum of Art and ran up the stairs. I got to the top and put both arms in the air and shouted "Yo Adrian, We did it." I turned around and saw 6 or 7 others doing the same thing. Guess I wasn't the only guy with this bright idea. I went down to the Rocky Statue and took a picture of a couple of kids and then ran back to my warm hotel room. That was the extent of my physical exertion for that three week period. Ann came up the first weekend I was there, so we got out a little bit. Saw the Liberty Bell, ate at some really good restaurants (had the original Philly Cheesesteaks), and she caught up on sleep without the kids.
Here is Ann in front of Geno's and me in front of Pat's. They both claim to be the Original, but we had Pat's because they are supposed to be better. Whiz wit or Whiz witout
The next weekend I came home for a day, but that is when there actually was stuff going on in Philly. Barack Obama stayed at our hotel and there were secret service everywhere that week. He stayed Friday night before getting on the train to head to DC for the inauguartion. Kind of like an episode of 24. Well, anyway, I made it back and I know more than I ever thought I would about vaccines. It is great to be home and Ann did a great job with the house and kids.

Speaking of the house, carpet is supposed to be here this week. That's right, we have been white trashing it since December 29 when we came home to the flood. The problem is since we know we are getting new carpet, we have kind of let everything go until the new carpet is in. Let's hope that it comes in this week so we can get back to normal.
